About the event
This is a 3-part series occuring on Sunday, June 11, 18, and 25th. Sessions run from 2:30 - 3:30 PM.
Session 1: Parent education session
Session 2 & 3: Sensory food play for the children
Target Audience: Children 18 months to 5 years. Intended for those who want support with mealtime challenges and limited food acceptance, more information on how to support their child's relationship with food, or simply an opportunity for their child to engage in sensory food play (without the mess in their own home)!
Course Goals:
1. Reduce mealtime stress and tension
2. Spark your child's curiosity about new food and expand their variety
3. Foster a positive relationship with food and body image
Why sensory food play: Food play is a way for children to build their comfort with new foods, without the pressure of a mealtime environment and the expectations about eating that may come along with it. If your child is hesitant to touch, taste, or even smell a food at the dinner table, they may feel more comfortable exploring it in a play setting. Fun interactions with food can help them feel good about that food, and perhaps grow to enjoy the taste.
